This position has the following job duties:

- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments (up to 800L)

- Organize and maintain the fermentation development lab

- Identify, analyze and troubleshoot fermentation problems

- Develop, maintain and revise fermentation SOPs

- Purchase and install equipment as needed

- Perform a variety of analytical techniques e.g. SDS-PAGE, HPLC & GC

- Collect data and prepare technical reports for clients

- Assist mammalian cell culture team in bioreactor setup as needed

Specific qualifications desired:

- Ph.D. in Biological/Chemical Engineering with a focus on fermentation processes or fermentation experience in a related field

- Microbial fermentation experience for protein expression

- Experience with Design of Experiments or other statistical methodologies

- Mammalian protein expression experience a plus
